GENTRIFICATION OR BALANCED NEIGBOURHOOD

Gentrification is not a dirty word - not in the Garden District. Over the last decade, this part of Downtown has become a much more balanced neighbourhood.

To the north, a chic Radio City and a Ballet School took over the abandoned CBC territory. The delinquent tavern on Gerrard and Jarvis is now a decent hotel, and a quality eatery on Jarvis and Dundas has replaced yet another bar. Condos have sprung on Queen, and more are being planned on Shuter, as are new hotels. Ryerson University has added brand new buildings. These new developments are not reserved for the getrification enthusiasts only - new facilities are being built for those who cannot look after themselves. We thank members of the Garden District Residents Association for the efforts. dedication and hard work to bring those changes about.

The Gabrielle Roy Parkette needs your help.
